Considering the price (red price tag and 17€), it's not bad at all. It was also suitable for drinking straight, but most of it were mixed with cola.
I tried it in a bar with ice. When i got the rum the ice was melted.
I think it would be better without the ice.
so it was a bit out of character
manufactured by Matusalem & Co (Dominican Republic).
in fact, this rum is not bad, but not interesting at all for +- experienced drinker. especially for its price and the number 7 on the label (yes, i remember it's solera, but still). very subtle fragrance, I hardly smell anything. they say vanilla? well, ok... the taste is the same: smooth, pleasant, a little sweeter than I would like (but not cloying), but, again, nothing interesting. recomended as a first-second step to the world of real rum. but I wouldn't buy it again even like a "every day rum" because of its price.
Soft. Bourbon notes. Faint aroma of cocoa and spices. The aftertaste is short. Perhaps this rum would be good to use in cocktails. But I drink it neat.
Dark colour, strong sweet aromatic smell.
Very sweet, strong taste, harsh after drink.
Have better rums for a cheaper price.

Sippable 6 out of 10
Smooth enough to be sipped. Quite mellow and smooth, sweetish, not smokey, nice nose, can feel vanilla, caramel and even small chocolate. Taste not bad for that price. Good for mixing? Anything goes in a mixer, except red label, that s really made for capitalism's worst enemies and cleaning toilets.
