Cartavio 12-Year

It is flavorful, full bodied, with just the right amount of sweetness. It is similar to brugal 1888. Maybe a slight bit more sweet and less fruity but close. I paid $30 and considered that a steal for the quality. I can't wait the try the xo version.

Full flavoured, woody/smokey but slightly sweet too, only a very slight afterburn, and an almost spicy aftertaste. Enjoyable but not as moreish as some other similar priced rums

Figured Peru had rum, but what a surprise it turned out to be.

Un ron con gran carácter. Tiene la base del XO. Al probarlo es del dulce ideal y no quema tanto al pasarlo. Se deja tomar solo y con hielo mejor aún.

Es un ron peruano con carácter, cuerpo. Olor a vainilla y nuez. Su sabor es dulce y se aprecia tomándose derecho.

Can't help it. When ever I see a nice bottle of rom, i buy if I got the money :D

Eye
Dark amber, relative density. Slow tear in the glass.

Nose
Honey, Sweet, Little alcoholic presence, molasses, cocoa, cane juice.

Taste
Bitter cocoa, some honey memories, dense, smooth.
When you open it with a little water become in a softer spirit, less silky but sweeter, bitter cocoa still feels but in smaller amounts.

It is may be not the most complex or full flavor rum, however it is so much easy for sipping and drink straight up. Great stuff from the Inka territory.

Really smooth. From Peru. Oak, caramel, not too sweet.
