Saint James Reserve Privee 15-Year

This was the first bottle of agricole in my collection. If you are curious about whether you like that type of rum, I recommend you to start here, as the price is very fair compared to quality.

Excellent rhum très complexe et boisé. Je préfère son homologue en 12 ans qui me parait plus léger.

A beautiful dark amber rum. The nose is slightly grassy, rubbery and toasted with notes of caramel, wood, nutmeg and perhaps a little plum. More complex and rounder than the younger 12 year brother. Absolutely love the aroma. In the mouth I pick up the same character found in the nose. Well executed and balanced. It's initially "juicy" and rounded with a slightly spicy and dry peak at the end. Good value for money agricole. Thumbs up.

Tres bon rhum sai t james avec veaucoup de gout puissant sur des notes de canne se finissant par un boise brule assez present. N aimant pas le boise je n ai pas adore cette distillerie.toutefois celui ci est un des meilleurs de chez eux avec le 12 ans et la cuvee speciale plus douce.certains aimeront c est sur. A essayer belle distillerie maison type colonial.a 40 e sur place c un tres bon rapport qualite prix.

Design : on retrouve la bouteille carrée de St James dans un étui en bois, le rhum a une belle robe acajou foncé.
Nez : riche, fruité, épicé et boisé.
Goût : attaque douce, avec une dominante de fruits (pruneau), ensuite viennent le boisé, les épices (muscade), puis des arômes plus tanniques, cacao, café, tabac.
Finale : longue, goût de canne.
Ayant apprécié le 12 ans, j'ai adoré le 15, plus aromatique. Dans les 2 cas, il s'agit d'excellents rhums.

I love agricole rums, I love Saint James... even the cheap ones for like 20 USD, if you let them breathe for a while, then they are perfect. But this 15-year rum surpasses all the lower ages by far.

The aroma is fresh and sweet, like all agricole rums are, but then comes the aging - it is smooth in the throat, you can feel the oakish taste of the casks. The afterburn is pleasant.

Tento rum pochádza z karibského ostrova Martinique a má peknú svetlejšiu jantárovú farbu. Po prvom ovoňaní by človek ani nepovedal, že je to rum. Pripomína skôr whisky. Je výrazne drevnatá, cítiť dobre vypálený drevený súdok, škoricu, sušené slivky. Keď rum dlhšie postojí, rozvinú sa typickejšie rumové arómy. Hrozienka, oriešky, kakao...Chuť rumu je suchá, tanínová, skrátka horkejšia. Dochuť je plnynulá, stredne dlhá, znova stopy po dubovom sude. Toto je ukážkovo stárený agricole rum. Čiže rum vyrobený priamo z vylysovanej šťavy z cukrovej trstiny. Aj keď je tento rum ukážkové dielo svojho druhu, nie je to moja šálka kávy.

Aromatic rhum with strong tones of sugar cane.
Sugar cane is less noticable in mouth where taste is dominated by ouak casks.
Afterburn is very intense.
This should be one of agricole flagships

So muss ein Agricol schmecken!!!!!!!

Tested this one together with the 12yo and I find this one a little too oaky for my taste. I like the 12yo better.
But this one is also a great Agricole, maybe I will appreciate better after some more testing. It has a great flavour, it’s smooth but a little bit too oaky.
