A. D. Rattray 1997 Trinidad Caroni 14-Year

This one of the Independent Bottlers who have stunning Caroni´s. This is another one.

Amazing taste. Like no other.
Between whisky and rum but it is rum !

Nose: tobacco, pineapple, spicy oak,nuts, dried fruits
Taste: very smooth and harmonious, although 61.5% vol, tropical fruit,fat, somewhat chemical but
Finish: licorice, pepper, long finish

The nose is smokey and powerfull with notes of leather, tobaco, wood and hints of sweet brown sugar. The rum posesses good body and the palette is pungent with the same notes found in the nose. This is backed up by subtle, sweet tropical fruity notes, which leads to a balanced expirience. Carefull not to inhale to hard after a sip, to spare your windpipe from hefty alcoholic fumes. Cask #135 Aged 18 years in bourbon barrels.
Pineapple and then a strange medicine aroma and flavor. I kinda like it. Not a bad flavor or smell.
