As a fan of darker spiced rums, this was going to be stretch from the outset. Unfortunately, a relatively pleasant flavour and lack of burn is muddied by an almost synthetic tasting sweetness on the tail end. Good in certain cocktails but false short on it's own.

Pretty good for a spiced but hard to have more than two because its so sweet. Tastes like butter ripple ice cream with a smidgen of vanilla.

Rum tasting with my good buddy in Vilnius started with Rumson's Spiced. Unique bottle and label design. Syrupy light golden color. Plenty of apple, vanilla and mild cinnamon to the nose and palate when neat sipped. Super sweet ending.

I tried this at a NH tasting along with the Coffee Rum and Grand Reserve. This spiced rum is amazing. It is not like any others out there. It is 80 proof vs 70 for most big names and it is rich and tasty. Very butterscotchy. So easy to drink straight. I like this best with citrus or pineapple and citrus mixed or with a coke. Best spiced rum.
