I've enjoyed this rum in many tiki-cocktails, as well as neat. It smells like butterscotch and tastes like fiery, buttery cinnamon.

Smooth and almost buttery mouth feel followed by an expected strong throat burn (what do you expect at 75%?). Powerful flavors of butter, brown sugar, molasses, and slight banana. Nice lingering finish that warms your whole chest. For me, slightly better than Plantation's O.F.T.D. which makes it my favorite overproof so far.

Hamilton 151 is a high proof fire breather. This overproof beast is my number one choice for the overproof in the Jet Pilot tiki cocktail as printed in Smuggler's Cove.

Better than Pussers and Lemon hart imo. Really good in cocktails and sipping

This is the best overproof I’ve tried. If you’re choosing between this or Lemon Heart, get this. It still retains its Demerara roots, and holds up in drinks.

Bottle purchased in Wichita. Pours dark gold. Aroma of a blast furnace. This is not quite as perfect a product as Lemon Hart, but this will certainly do as a close second choice. Don’t you dare light this on fire. Made it in a classic daiquiri and it really shines with a great Demerara sweetness and a potent heat.

Not a fan, which is Weird because the st lucia hamilton is amazing. The nose is like diplomatico taste is rancid and burn is overpowering again not as smooth as st lucia. Maybe mixed in a cocktail but otherwise a no go

It's not even close for me. I love the heavy brown sugar nose on Hamilton 151 and use it in all my Tiki drinks requiring black overproof rum.

When you combine this with the also brown sugar Gossling's Black Seal for a Naked Ape it's a really fun time.

As I noted in my review of Plantation OFTD, also in this rum category, Hamilton 151 is more of a single note than OFTD. So if you really appreciate complexity then you may like that better.

This is my preferred 151 rum. Ed Hamilton has done a great job producing a high proof rum that also has wonderful flavor. Molasses flavor is perfect.

This has to be one of the best overproofs on the market. Fair price. Hamilton has a solid reputation for quality. It’ll definitely add that missing ingredient to your drinks!
