Got this 5cl sample of the 3yo Damoiseau VO from Rum Ratings Tasting Club.
The aroma is mild with possibility to detect honey, vanilla and hints of wood.
On the palate there is a certain sweetness and it’s possible to detect orange, cardamom and coffee.
During the medium long finish the cardamom and coffee dominates.
Picture: My emptied sample and the poured glass.
C'est le rhum que je bois le plus étant donné son rapport qualité/prix.
Un super rhum agricole Avec beaucoup de goût
Damoiseau Rhum Vieux Agricole VO (42%)
Duft: frugt, sukker/sødme, krydderi, sur
Smag: tobak, peber, syrlig,
Point: 4 (brænder i halsen)
Was not sure if I liked it or not and took me a number of sips to decide I rather did, despite the quite Burny aftertaste.
Aroma is typical agricole, full of fresh grass.
Taste is not so complex and still a bit harsh (3y aging only) Aftertaste is shorter with bitter woody and apple tones on palate. Not bad, but if you can, pay a bit more for longer matured agricole.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
