Ez az, amit egyszer mindenkinek meg kell kóstolnia. Olyan arany középút, majdnem mindenki szereti. Kicsit száraz, kicsit éedes, kicsit vaniliás. Nekem bejün!
This is decent tasting for the price. Not very sweet but not super dry either, goes down well, its drinkable, the only negative for me is in the finish as you can taste a little of that rubbing alcohol note, Doorlys XO is better in my opinion.
Farbe: helles Bernstein
Sherry and chlorine on the nose.
Apricot taste with some coconut.
After drinking the Doorly's XO I thought I would give it a shot. The XO I would consider a budget rum, but hey the stuff is pretty dang tasty and a good bang for the money spent! The 12 year is a lot better and is notably smoother with lots of good tastes to slap upside your tongue. Slight burn at the finish and has a multitude of flavors as you sit back and say..... "Very Nice". Good price for a very good rum.
secondary aging in oak sherry casks. Very smooth, pleasant aroma, medium complexity. Mildly sweet, not dry, you can taste the sugars, and the sherry cask comes through in good balance. Very scotch-like. 85+
Sweet but just shy of too sweet. Can be a little rough and burning. Can be simple or oaky and complex. Depends on the sip. Overall very worth a try but not the best.
Have had a bottle of this on hand for a few months and have sipped it as well as mixed it.
When sipped neat, the nose is subdued, and has a slight smokiness to it.
Taste is a tad bitter & the wood from the aging process comes through well. Everything here is delicate and there isn't an off flavor. Not very sweet & on the drier side. Good example of a Barbados rum: no nonsense here!
When mixed, as with other Barbados rums, I've generally found this one to be lacking in character. It doesn't make bad cocktails but the rum isn't going to be the star of the show in a tiki drink.
It's worth mentioning that here in the Bay Area you can purchase this rum for $24 at Total Wine, which is absurd for a rum of this quality. Doorly's has some fantastic value out there.
Familiar notes of vanilla and light toffee/caramel.
"An initial hit of sweetness, brown sugar and a little spicy pepper is overtaken by dry oaked flavour and a nice spiced heat. The finish is very smooth and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Good, but not mind blowing

The internet seems to love Foursquare distillery and I can see why - if you came from whisky or, especially, bourbon. This is a good spirit that is somewhat similar. Easy to drink and far lighter than most oily, sugary rums, it is a good bridge between whisky and sweet rum. That being said, I feel the recent trend of hating on sugar being added to rum elevates drier rums and punishes sweeter ones to the detriment of the spirit. There is an art to dry rum, as there is an art to sweet rum, but one is not better for being absent added sugar.
