Not much to say. It tastes like a stronger, more potent Captain Morgan. That's a good thing as it's smooth enough and tasty enough to be satisfying. I rated it a 7 to be fair to it's actual quality when compared to much higher quality aged rums. However, at only $20 per bottle and for being so smooth at 94.6 proof, it might also be considered an 8. I like it.

A good and sweet spiced Rum.
Simple and straight, if you like sweet Rum this one is worth a taste.

Nosing is rather subdued for its strength under the additives but does have a slight nostril burn to it. The nosing is that of chocolate, molasses, vanilla. Burn in the back of the throat and tongue. Astringency Then turns into a sugar bomb in its finish with vanilla and chocolate notes. Nothing to sip on lacking oak or smoke flavors form any "double charring". Unable to have the desire to sip more I mixed with cola which I rarely do. The cola helps to mostly reduce the burn and astringency which it often does and carried the vanilla and chocolate notes.

I saw this hit the shelves shortly after I saw the Kraken hit stores. Since I was already in love with Kraken I figured I'd like this one. It was ok at best. Not terrible but not great.

Nothing special but oke to drink with cola. For straight up this isn't my rum.

Clearly not the best of the best but a solid choice for mixed drinks, Has a strong vanilla flavour more so than a true spiced rum.

There is a little hint of clove and nutmeg present on the nose as well but predominantly it is sweet vanilla. .
"This is a very sweet drink. The rum burns a little on exit but after a few sips the burn subsides. There is a little hint of oaked ageing in the aftertaste."

To już trzeci opisywany no blogu rum spod bandery Kapitana. Tym razem pozycjonowany oczko wyżej, ciemny (można nawet bez wstydu dodać: czarny) rum z dodatkiem przypraw. Występuje w dwóch wersjach, pierwsza trudniej dostępna ma moc 47,3% oraz zamykana jest gumowym korkiem (dostępna w USA), druga z oficjalnej polskiej oraz europejskiej dystrybucji opiszę Wam dzisiaj. Gdzieś w internecie natknąłem się też na odmianę 37,5% która posiada inną butelkę. Co do wyglądu natychmiastowo wzrok przyciąga ładna, nieregularna a'la pergaminowa etykieta z wyczerpującą ilością informacji. Całość pokrywa szczegółowa grafika oraz rysunki przypominające pisane czarnym atrametem. Zwieńczeniem całości są miedziane zdobienia napisów, embossing oraz niespodzianka po opróżnieniu butelki - patrz zdjęcie. Bardzo mi się podoba - mocne 7,5/10 za samą prezencję opakowania

ZAPACH: Czekolada, toffi, prażone orzech laskowe, dość gryzący alkohol, oraz trochę dębiny na końcu.
SMAK: Toffi, wanilia - na pierwszym planie jest słodko. Dalej palony cukier, cynamon, mleczna czekolada. Smak można opisać jako bogaty ale nie ciężki.
Można łatwo stiwierdzić że całość jest zbyt waniliowo-cynamonowa jak na prawidłowy, leżakowany rum (no i oczywiście zbyt ciemna, wręcz smolista) - dlatego dopisek na etykiecie spiced rozwiewa nam wszystkie wątpliwości. W stosunku do opisywanego na blogu rumu z kategorii spiced - SAILOR JERRY SPICED który to wydaje się być konkurecnją dla Kapitana można powiedzieć iż ten dzisiejszy jest delikatnie słodszy oraz gładszy właśnie dzięki pokładom wspomnianej wanili oraz toffi - całość można porównać do lodów. Jednak mam wrażenie że ten trunek jest mocno ugłaskany - przyprawy są wysokiej jakości co mocno wpływa na odczucia a pod ich pierzynką jednak skrywa się trunek który nie spędził w beczkach dość długo czasu lecz jej wpływ jest już wyczuwalny.
Cóż czas spróbować odmiany Captain Morgan Private Stock. Jestem również ciekaw porównania z Kraken lub Black Magic. Muszę zatem na nią rozpocząć sklepowe "polowanie".
