This bottling comes from Jamaica from the Hampden Distillerie and was made in 2007 in pot style. The rum carries the Mark C<>H and is therefore a high ester rum. The rum was allowed to mature for 15 years, most of it continental. With a cask strength of 63.5% alcohol, the rum was bottled as a single cask without additives or filtration.
On the nose, the rum immediately meets all expectations. Intense and somehow almost aggressive, the aromas flow out of the glass. The high ester content makes it possible. I get a lot of overripe tropical fruit with nail polish and medicine. Pineapple and slightly fermented. The rum is super funky, but also gives a few barrel flavors. On the palate, the rum is very balanced. Warm with a lot of body, there is overripe pineapple, a lot of esters, some nut and barrel aromas with a slight sweetness like candied fruit. The rum is strong and intense. The finish becomes more woody with candied fruits, esters of unripe fruit. The rum becomes drier with a medicinal note. The rum stays in the mouth endlessly.
Funky, funky, funky. A grenade. A very intense but also balanced C<>H. The alcohol is super integrated and works where it is needed. The 2007 vintage is getting better with each passing year. Absolutely top and an absolute recommendation for Hampden fans.

Der hohe Ester Anteil macht es möglich Ich bekomme viel überreife tropische Frucht mit Nagellack und Medizin. Ananas und etwas vergorens. Der Rum ist super funky, gibt aber auch ein paar Fassaromen. Am Gaumen ist der Rum sehr ausgewogen. Warm mit viel Körper gibt es überreife Ananas, viel Ester, etwas Nuss und Fassaromen mit einer leichten Süße wie kandierte Früchte. Der Rum ist kräftig und intensiv. Der Abgang wird holziger mit kandierteb Früchten, Ester unüberreifer Frucht. Der Rum wird trockener mit einer medizinischen Note. Der Rum bleibt endlos lange im Mund.
