Tasted this very good rum at the Sweden Rumfest 2023 two days before the official release date.
This is the second release in a series of rum called the Swedish Rum Nerd series. This time it’s dedicated to the very enthusiastic and positive Mikael Forster, a well known enthusiast in the Swedish rum community whose measure is “Sharing is caring”.
It’s a molasses based column distilled single cask from Panama aged for 15 years in ex-bourbon cask and finished in Moscatel cask bottled in just 198 bottles.
The nose is fruity, nutty and a little spicy with notes of chocolate and orange.
At the palate it’s fruity, sweet, nutty and spicy with hints of orange, peach, vanilla and toffee.
The long finish is fruity and spicy with hints of orange, apricot and chocolate.
Overall a super smooth, balanced and elegant rum.
