This limited-edition of Pusser’s rum was released to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. It’s made from Pot Still as well as Column Still rum from Guyana and Trinidad that’s aged for a minimum of three years in charred ex-bourbon barrels whereafter it’s bottled at ABV 54,5%.
The nose is well-balanced with aromas of caramel, spices and dried fruit.
The palate is spicy with notes of caramel, vanilla, oak and dried fruits.
The final has a smooth fruity taste, with notes of creamy vanilla and oak.
Overall a very nice rum which gives me, right or wrong, a feeling of a genuine rum similar to what was served onboard.

Got this bottle during the week before the Coronation and feelt it was meant to be opened today at 6th if May!
My expectations was high and hoped for a new variant of 50th Anniversary and Depthford Dockyard Reserve!

Started out well in the nose with a really nice flavor of orange and citrus. Also some smooth wood/oak senses!

After a while a tasted it and at first sip there is a quite strong alcohol taste. Even if I am quite used of navy proof and overproof rum this I experienced stronger than the 54,5% it is.
Taste was not as flavoring I had expected. But a lot of pepper and wood. Some colorful tastes as cinnamon, black pepper and some carnation.
After a while it become more flavorish and the peppery taste vanish.
Needed to compare it with the Black label Gunpowder Proof (also 54,5%) but is has not thrall at flavorish taste and the tail vanish quicker.
Needed to sip some drops from my DDR also to compare!
There is a different with a lot not flavorish taste at the DDR and the Coronation is more wood/oak and a little more bitter!
It is a nice gunpowder proff rum but it does not fulfill the heritage of 50th Anniversary and DDR!
But to be honest, maybe that was not the intention!

As a fan of the royals (resulting from my time back in East Anglia - likely biasing my rating) I could not resist when I saw this one in the local liquor store. I have no experience with Pusser’s rums and the smell was not very appealing at first but I did enjoy sipping it. Worth considering especially since it is a limited edition. Cheers to the King

Tasty rum. Solid 9 rating. Fruity, balanced rum. Little sweetness and wood .
