Tried the Plantation Jamaica 1998 and it has a very weird rubber smell to it. Maybe it's the Jamaica Glue which other reviews are referring to. It is offputting to start with and the taste test does not convince me either. There is surprisingly strong burn at the end. Hard to find and such a big disappointment.
Typical jamaican aromas - burnt bananas, sugar cane... well balanced between elegance and funk. Would have been better at 50 % and a few years older. Very good spirit.

Never had a bad plantation, this Jamaican just doesn't seem much different from the regular plantation, which is quite good. Don't get me wrong this isn't bad, but with the different label/brand I expected a difference, so I knocked down the rating.
