Got a sample of this Foursquare rum for free from RumX.
It’s a mix of column and pot still distilled rum aged for 11 years in an ex-bourbon cask, 5 years in the tropics and 6 years continentally whereafter it’s bottled in 264 bottles at 59,3%.
The aromas is fruity, spicy and woody with hints of vanilla and bourbon.
In mouth and at the palate as well as during the medium long finish the aromas comes back as tastes but there’s also hints of burnt sugar, nuts and dark chocolate.
Overall an interesting and elegant Foursquare rum that’s a little different from their own bottlings, maybe because of the continental aging.
