Opening this bottle was an experience.
Nose: lots of fruit and spices - keep smelling and new things appear.
In the glass: beautiful brown deep color and looks thick.
Taste: Vanilla, brown sugar, caramel, raisins and more. Very long aftertaste.

My rating is based on the experience. It would have been lower if I had to take the price into considerations.

I love El Dorado aged rums. The 25 is in a class by itself...but this version is slightly less than the 1980 and the 1988 versions. The finish disappears quickly. Almost like they forgot to add something in the mix. If I had not had the other two versions I would say this is the best Rum I have tasted but that goes to the other 25 year old bottles of El Dorado. Really a 9.9

Honestly flavours cannot comprehend how good of a rum this is ... El Dorado stands for liquid gold and this is the holy grail ... I would own a 1000 bottles if I could

Bought this for my 30 years at work present, had many a rum from Β£50-200 but wanted to try this one,
and what a great buy managed to get it for under Β£400 so tasted even better.
If you like rum you will love this.

This is smooth & well aged, without being very oaky or bitter. Taste profile is sophisticated with exotic fruits, chocolate, peper, vanilla, honey, butter, apricots and raisins. Compared to all other El Dorados this is the sweetest. Over all extreamly overpriced, i am glad that try this but too much money for a very good drink. In comparison El Dorado 21 has a bit acid aftertaste (because of strong cognac aging) and not as mild as 25. If the cost of El Dorado 25 was about 120 to 140 euro would be fair.

Opened my bottle tonight for National Rum Day. This rum so silky smooth and so full of flavors and wonderful aromas it will take me some time to get my head around everything it is offering.

As close to cognac as a rum can come. Worth the money if you can find it. Caramel notes with fruity undertones.
