Got a sample of this rum for free from RumX.
Long Pond is known for its ultra-funky, high-ester style of rum, but this one is a VRW which marks quite low esters.
It was pot still distilled 2000 whereafter it was continental aged for 21 years in an ex-rum barrel before bottled in 220 bottles at 56,4%.
The aromas is weak and thin with some fruits and sweetness.
In mouth and during the medium long finish the tastes is much stronger than the aromas. It’s fruity, spicy and sweet with hints of banana and mango.
Overall a very light Long Pond that tastes much better than its aromas.
