First out this year is a rum from the house of ReimonenQ in Guadeloupe.
It’s located in Saint-Rose, in the northern parts of Basse-Terre.
ReimonenQ was founded by the two Finnish brother Joseph and Fernand Reimonenq in 1914.
Today is the distillery runned by Fernand’s son Léopold, born in 1933.
The KOU de Foudre is a rather new rum in their lineup matured for 19 months in new French oak barrels and finished in American oak barrels.
The nose is woody, fruity and spicy with hints of nuts and licorice.
In mouth it’s first a little weak to get much more tasty at the palate and during the medium long finish. It’s round, fruity and spicy with hints of vanilla, nuts, oak and licorice.
Overall an Agricole with a nice nose that’s a little weak in mouth at first to get real tasty at the palate and during the finish.
