Absolutely great for the money

"Distilled and aged in Jamaica" it says in the bottle. And the content makes me believe that this is true.
Objectively, this is a great rum. Considering the price - about 10 Euros for a 0,7 l bottle - this is very, very good. And insanely cheap for what you get.
Colour is quite dark (dark-brownish, with some copper) and it is coloured (says so on the bottle, which I applaud the German importer for).
Nose is quite intense, typical Jamaica funk, a bit of mulled wine spice, a hint of glue, nutmeg.
On the palate, the rum is sweeter than expected, perhaps it has been lightly sweetened (which is OK). But not a sweet rum by any means. Lots of funk, some fruity notes, very full-bodied and lots of flavour. Not overly alcoholic, quite harmonic. Not overly complex, but excellent funkiness. Really good.
I am fine with sipping this, but I assume most might not be. For mixing, it is perfect.
Goes great in fruit juice, in cocktails and with ginger beer. Also great in a very pungent hot grog.
Excellent for cocktails and a good alternative to Myers's, without Myers's licorice notes. Or just use a mix of this and Myers's - you might be surprised.
