I’ve been trying a lot of spiced rums lately and while this one isn’t bad, it also doesn’t stand out as anything special. It’s strongest note and taste is orange so it makes me think there was some added flavoring. Still, not bad for a mixer.

I would hate it. The word spiced isn't really found heavily on their marketing or promo stuff. Perhaps a zealous sampler labler did this to me? (this was a pre labeled sample). Regardless I had my nose turned up. When I got a sniff of tobacco, citrus, clove... I thought OK, maybe I'm being a bit precious. On the palate it follows through with more citrus and clove. It's very nice. I enjoyed sipping it down. Had a nice lingering finish. No heavy sweetness, just a nice very light caramelized sugar and a touch of pleasant rough edge, like orange peel, maybe from the copper still style? I haven't been able to learn much but I was very surprised, this was very nice.

Picked this up as part of the Drinks by Dram advent calendar. Very strong notes of citrus to start with. We very nicely with a orange ginger mix. After the citrus there are notes of flowers, overall a very nice rum that I would buy a full bottle next time
