This rum is a total oddity. If to drink spiced rum it's only like this. Wonderfully citrusy and cinnamon-y. You can sip it and it'll give you pleasure. But I followed the recommendation of one of the distillery founders and had it on ice with a slice of orange. Try it if you can! Now I dream about owning the whole bottle of it.

Baking spices on the nose, particularly cinnamon. On the palate it is pretty smooth with minimal alcohol burn and a moderate cinnamon spicy note on the mid-palate. I sipped it, which was OK: smooth but heavy on the cinnamon. It might make a good cocktail where cinnamon is an ingredient and the cinnamon it removed to be filled in by this rum.

I'm interested in trying this in a Hemingway daiquiri because it tastes like it is average rum splashed with maraschino liqueur. I'm not an expert in what to expect or prefer in flavored/spiced rums. This seems a little one noted to me, but does have a nice finish.

I’m not a huge spiced rum drinker but when I indulge, I want to have a good one. I got a sample of this rum recently and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. A perfect balance since often spiced rums veer way too sweet for my taste.
I look forward to trying this again in the future.
