Den er faktisk ret god som man siger der hvor jeg kommer fra.
Strong smoky smell and taste that reminds scottish whiskey. After a moment it turns back into agicole tones leaving oaky tail.
i was really looking forward to trying this manufacture as I have seen this making the top 10 lists on You tube in the UK market. might be generous with the 5 rating as the harshness overpowers absolutely every taste component this rum may offer. For my money the 7 year old Saint James is a much better option in my limited experience.
Maybe because this is an agricole that has a lot of other flavors going on, besides the simple grassy notes, I love it. I'm still a bit new to this style of rum, but for $40 this is one of my favorites.
Rhum J.M Terroir Volcanique
Duft: gær, vanilje, sur?
Smag: let tør, træ lidt brændt, peber, sødme fra overmodne frugter.
Point: 5 (et glas er nok)
Strange smell, quite punchy for the lack of a better word. A bit of an annoying burn, not great as a sipper.
The right amount of burn. Flavours of tropical fruit; banana in particular. Smokiness from the extended toasting is a nice touch.
Very interesting. Light, smooth, feels delicate. FWIW, bottled Jan. 2023.
I get no agricole on the nose - I do get vanilla, light fruit, and a hint of clay. Quite pleasant.
On the palate, more fruit, less vanilla, a pleasant level of sweet, light oak - but I can't find the smokiness that is supposed to be there! It's fine without, but I'd love to get that note out of this rum - but it is missing (for me). Fresh agricole notes and some minerality are on the finish.
Still, I like this - it's so easy to drink. I do recommend it - a very approachable agricole for sure.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I’m not sure why the low reviews of this rhum. It’s smooth with flavors of honey, caramel, toffee, and then the almost sweet grassiness of a rhum agricole.
