An aged ex bourbon barrel rum from Luzon, Phils. Hard to get outside the archipelago (found it in Ayala Mall, Cebu City, PH for a good price and brought back home). Comes with really catchy bottle with serial number - mine is visible under the item gallery.
This is the first rum from Phils I've had that doesn't need any geographical reliefs and elevated tolerance, quite possibly first humble rum from this country. Pleasant smell with decently spicy, woody and perhaps lil' smokey tones but nothing exaggerated or annoying in it. The aftertaste is quite short but pleasantly spiced. The spice-ness never gets annoying and the rum has neither sweet nor dry profile (average sweet, probably w/o additives). While no groundbreaking rum, it keeps a certain character and I see no aspect of the taste wrong. I hence rate as 7/10. I really want to bring more of 'em from this part of the world next time...
