This is truly a great Jamaican rum. However, for the price point, I was a little disappointed because of the mildness. For something being aged for as long as this has and at the time of tasting it costs $140 for a bottle, I was expecting a more funky flavor. This is still a funky rum and it definitely blows the Xaymaca out of the water when it comes to flavor. However Plantation seems to have a signature taste quality to it that almost seems like its neutered. It may be that almost all of the Plantation rums are aged in cognac casks for a length of time and that gives them their taste but it is almost subdued. Like they started off with a great product but during the aging process mellowed the flavor to the point where it doesn't wow me. I say all this because I want people to be educated going into this rum. if you go into tasting this with an open mind and not overly hyped expectations, you will enjoy this rum quite well. But if you were like me and a Plantation fanboy and very susceptible to limited edition products, then you will probably be let down by this rum. In conclusion, I would definitely taste this rum if you get the chance, but unless you are a Plantation fanboy or are collecting for investment purposes, I would not buy this rum especially for $140.

Aroma is not bad, warm with mineral tones. Taste is smooth and very complex - not typical Jamaican wild style. Wood, fruits, oak and leather on palate, ending in nice and long aftertaste. Only one thing I am missing is a bit higher % of ABV that would help to highlight more tones. Therefore "only" 9 points.

A true Jamaican rum with a very rich palate and great taste. Absolutely love its taste and mouthfeel. No added sugars but still kinda sweet in its own way due to the Fruity notes and nut aroma's. Love it!
