Their website states: Banditti Club Port Cask Finish is naturally fermented and distilled from fresh sugarcane juice on the island of Madeira before being aged in Glasgow, first in new heavily charred virgin oak barrels and then for a finishing period in exceptional first-fill tawny port casks.
Bottled at 52.4% ABV, only 974 individually numbered bottles are available.
Natural fermentation offers a wonderful grassy and fruity flavour profile. The long and slow maturation in virgin oak offers notes of vanilla and woody spice. The finishing period in tawny port takes this spirit to another level, adding rich fruity layers of strawberries, blackberries and dark chocolate.

I've had some rum samples from Spain (Canary Islands about 300 miles south of Madeira) and found them to be actually really quite nice. So not a great surprise that this has some character. The thing that hit me the most, was just how sweet the fruit was on this. I wrote to the distiller to ask whether there was any added sugar and they said no.
Very different from an Agricole. The nose almost come across as a bit dirty, attractive though, and that would be the oak and port notes. The pallet is as mentioned, full of fruit falvours.
One thing that I was initially cautious about was the ABV. My ideal is about 44-46%, sometimes a wee bit more like Doorly's 14yo @ 48%, but more than that..... But this at 52.4% is pretty well balanced and smooth.
I think giving it a 7 might be seen by some as generous, but it is interesting and is different, and I would recommend trying it.
