Was looking through my old concierge orders from Total wine, and thought this one never came in. Searched my entire collection found it on the bottom shelf and never rated. Must have been a spirited first session. Anyway this rhumb is the real deal, hand selected cask only 250 bottles produced and bottled at 59%. While I’m not a big fan of Flor de Cana rums but this was distilled at Alcoholes de Caribe a different distillery and has more depth and lingering flavor than FDC 25 year old. First scent and I think I’m sampling a Foursquare, first sip nice light charred oak Bourbon notes followed by brown sugar. This is hands down a very excellent rum and I am fortunate to be one of the truly lucky 250. Tried again last few days truly exceptional! Not sure why they say it Trinidad it’s clearly Venezuelan.
