Papillon Brun Freespirit produced by the Esperance distillery, which is the oldest distillery in Guadeloupe still in operation. The rum is produced in their Creole column still whereafter it’s aged in American bourbon barrels.
The nose is fruity, vegetal, sweet and spicy.
In mouth, at the palate and during the medium long finish I recognize caramel, cinnamon, orange, spices and vanilla. Overall it’s both powerful and round as well as subtle.
