Papalin 2021 Jamaica Overproof 7-Year

Molases, banana and orange peel; honey, pepper and bitter; warming finish tail.

Jedná se o stejný rum jako 7yo (47%), jen je lahvován v "námořní síle" 57,18%.

Aroma: Nahnilé ovoce (banány, pomeranče), třtina, na pozadí lehce dezinfekční jódovitost.
Chuť: Med, ovoce, pepřovitost.
Dozvuk: Silně pepř, med, bylinky a příjemně hořknoucí dřevitost.
Sladkost: 0/3
Ochutnán vzorek
Je úplně stejný jako 7yo (47%), akorát více pepřovější. Oba hodnotím stejně.

Esterové, ale pořád elegantní, procenta tomu svědčí. To jsem si užil.

Rare "Red" Papalin - poshy blend of two Jamaican rums smooshed together by Luca Gargano. Aged 7 years in Jamaica "that equals about 20 years anywhere else", overproof - even its commoner "Blue" brother kicks a lot for just 48% ABV.
Been directly comparing to very similar "Hampden Estate Pagos" which is IMHO tad better.
Papalin is recognizably stronger, drier, offering less fruity and more "moldy" palate and smell - typical Jamaican - hardly transferable into words. This one is also spicier with long, pleasant finish.
For +/- same money paid, I find Hampden(s) to be slightly better choice. Do I regret snatching a bottle? Hell no!
