A truly special dram. Colour is dark amber. Good viscosity. Hangs off the walls of the glass. Nose is complex; vanilla, oak, caramel. Alcohol hits you up front on the palate. As this settles the complexity of this rum comes alive. So well balanced, the oak & vanilla winning the dominance battle early, then gradually giving way to spice, caramel & burnt toffee. Length on the palate outstanding. You’ll still taste this for hours after your last sip. Truly special.

Bought this after reviewing this website significantly and I was not disappointed. Its one of those special rums, that you should really savor and save for a while... I could not. It was too good and I got through the bottle in weeks... So happy I bought this!

So yeah beats every other Dominican rum, right balance of sweetness, light caramel notes, it’s straight down the middle. It deserves an 8.5 but doesn’t deserve to get rounded down since it’s pretty solid, would drink it daily as a backup to my go-tos when they run out and i’m waiting to go to the rum shop

Då var det äntligen Fredag och extra trevlig när det finns paket att hämta hos gröna skylten.🙂 Den här flaskan har jag som med många andra flaskor fått väntat länge på då den varit en bit ner på önskelistan.
Ron Cubaney Centario 21 kommer nu i en uppdaterad (snyggare än den förra) kartong. Korken på denna butelj är riktigt tjusig i träutförande och äkta kork. Flaskan i sig behöver inte heller skämmas.
Doft: Direkt efter ploppet sprider sig intensiva aromer i rummet. Vanilj och kola, härligt spännande kryddighet och och ett ordentligt täcke av ekfat fast ett mjukt, lent och elegant sådant. Nu känner jag en plötslig iver att samköra Qrm 30 som är min favorit nr 1 bredvid denna. I doft så får Qrm definitivt pisk, den känns faktiskt lite tunn i jämförelse även om den har lite citrusdrag som Cubaney saknar.
Smak: Ljuvlig sötma, gräddkola med lätta brända toner, vanilj och mandel, utpräglad smak av fat utan att det förstör det minsta. Den känns rund och söt i inträdet och har många likheter med Qrm 30. Dom 41 procenten känns precis lagomt. Svårt att utse en vinnare här men Cubaney vinner alla gånger långloppet och dansar torrt runt gomsegelet långt eftet att sista sippen har svalts.
Detta är ett köp jag inte ångrar, och den armbågar sig med lätthet in på min topp 5 lista och parkerar där för stanna ett bra tag. 💪🤘😛

I tasted this fantastic rum at the famous Rum Bar in the beautiful Whitsunday Isles in North Queensland..
A bit higher 42% ABV really helps pep this rum up ! So sweet and spicey but in a great way.. leave in the glass for 20 mins then sip away !! Dried fruits , some toffee and maybe almonds ? Very complex and a lovely long aftertaste.. definitely one of the best sipper s I have ever tried. You have to try this at least once in your life.

I compared this liquid treasure with another famous gem from Olivier & Oliver : the Quorhum 30-year.
I must admit that it would be hard to make a choice. Both have a lot in common : gentle nose, deep color, incredible smoothness around vanilla, caramel, dried fruits.
However, I tend to think the Cubaney tastes a little bit more complex. More surprises int the mouth after a initial feel-good sensation. Moreover, the finish of the Cubaney lasts much longer, which would encourage me to have another glass from this one. All in all, these are two must-have for any rum collector on the west side, along with the Plantation XXe anniversary, which shares a lot too with the two rums I compared but on a more fruity and more "gourmand" side.
