Yes , it has a lot of sugar and colouring added but if your in the mood for a very easy to sip sweet rum , then this is the fella for you !
Its right up there with ED12 and DRE in taste but maybe more interesting ? After pouring a dram or three into my tasting glass i could sense liquorice , toffee , caramel and some spices..
Lovely mixture of heat and sweet and spicey all at the same time then absolutely no burn on the way down the throat . Nice long aftertaste , this bottle won't last long which is unfortunate as not available here in Australia !

I have tried all three aged Presidente rums (15, 19 and 23) and this one tastes best for me and also my friends. It is much smoother than 15, a little less than 23, but with stronger flavour. Also a little more sweet than 23. And very complex taste. One of my 5 favourites...

As of this review, this rum has a score of 8.3, while the Presidente 23 has a score of 8.0. I think this one is a little better, as the 23 year has a bit more oak finish to it and a little less sweetness.

Smells and tastes of molasses, caramel, marzipan, and honey. Doesn't have the oaky finish of the 23, which I like. A very good rum, especially at the price!

Very smooth, simple and sweet. Works all the time with hint of wood

Good taste, a little sharp and maybe a little too oily. Some hints of tobacco. I wonder why my rum guide does not feature this one...

This rum deserves to be famous like Diplomatico Reserva. Good drink if you have a visit.
