Real McCoy Single Blended 12-Year

En meget afrundet og sød rom, der på samme tidspunkt også har lidt kant. Den mangler dog noget på eftersmagen efter min mening.

I first tried the Real McCoy 12 at the local Rumfest several years ago. I liked it then and I like it now -especially since I have a whole (okay, now less than whole) bottle. Smooth and very nice for sipping. On my scale, I have it as a 7.5.

Liked the history behind the brand. The rum was a straight forward rum, no real aftertaste nor flavour. Not a bad rum but not great either.

The bourbon casks really comes shining through on this rum. It's definitely has that distinctive oak taste but it's not overpowering. It has a nice balance of citrus and banana flavoring with a hint of tobacco. Just another great example of Bajan rum and Foursquare.

Another wonderful unadulterated rum from Mr. Seale and his Foursquare Distillery. Rich rum flavors, notes of toffee, oak, molasses and spices, but at 80 proof, none of the alcohol burn. An example of Bajan rum at its best.

Rigtig fin rom der kan stille lysten hos både den der vil have sødt og den der vil have stærkt.

It's not sweet. I like sweet but I still like this one. It tastes natural.

Dejlig rom. Klar duft af kokus. Smagen er lidt tør, rund, kokus, vanilje og karamel

There is very little burn in sipping this and it has a toasted oaky vanilla flavor that comes through. It's not as bold as Doorly's 12 year which has a more dominant copper and aged fruit like flavor. IMO it doesn't have that coppery like flavor of rl seales 10 yr or Doorly's of any kind. It's smooth on the throat for sure and definitely woody w some brown sugar. It's like an unsugared and smoother Pampero Aniversario RE. This has sweet wet oak flavor and pretty sharp tannins that are different from other foursquare offerings, I love it. Update: just tasted this after tasting Don Q Anejo and the toasted cocunut flavor of this rum becomes highly noticeable, smooth and delicious, gotta drink it straight!
