I would expect more from Foursquare. Not a ton of flavor, and not particularly smooth either. I suppose it isn’t dosed, which is a positive, but I would only burry this in cocktails, not use it as a highlight.
Vanilla on the nose, same on the palate plus coconut with some baking spices on the finish. Just OK to sip but really shines in cocktails like the Hemingway Daiquiri.
If you go to the offy looking for white rum and you come away with anything other than this, you’ve fluffed it.
That said, it’s a white rum, so it’s never gonna be a top ten.
Wanting to expand my white rum selection, I found this one. The nose gives me a faint banana and carmel. Tasting notes, I get vanilla, a fruity note that I haven't placed yet and some spice on the end. I get a small amount of heat initially before the flavors come out.
Initially warm, sweet, and vanilla. A hint of coconut. Almost clear with a slight yellow tint. Smooth. Creamy mouthfeel. Barely a hint of funky.
This rum is nice a dry with just a little complexity. It really feels like the standard rum to go into almost any cocktail that doesn't need a ton of bite or oak. Think daiquri or mojito less tiki drinks that need the rum to stand up.
Comparing to Plantation 3 Star the aroma starts more alcoholic, but over time is just more neutral. Very pleasant. Can’t wait to try this in daiquiri!
By far my favorite non flavored rum to mix with coke, does not have a harsh flavor and balances well with everything I have mixed with.
Finish is longer and more spicy.
"Quite heavy on the vanilla notes but has a little beef to it."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Decent flavor, with hints of vanilla and caramel, very light fruit. Fairly dry, a bit of heat and some bitterness, but fully tolerable. Not overly complex. Works very nicely as a mixer, does perfectly well in a Daiquiri. I do find it to be worth the price (sub $20). I do recommend trying it.
