The Duppy Share Caribbean rum is produced using a combination of 3-year Jamaican and 5-year Barbados rums. Both are aged in bourbon barrels and brought to London for bottling.
The name 'Duppy Share' comes from Caribbean folklore where the dark spirit 'duppies' take their share of rum from distilleries, similar to the traditional term 'angel’s share' when rum is lost due to evaporation during the aging process.

Complex taste, strong but still all the nuances easy to recognize. This was a very nice surprise if the comparison price/value is considered. Very strong for first sip but the taste is provoking my taste buds. I was definitely very gladly surprised by a complexity of this rum. Will buy it next time

Just as the well known Zacapa (also from Guatemala), the Malteco is not made from molasse, but from sugar cane sirup. This production method is a guatemalan specialty.
Nose: caramel, oak, vanilla. Slightly spicy. Great, well balanced body.
Palate: very smooth and well balanced, some hints of chili and smoke maybe. Unfortunately, the aftertaste is not lasting very long. But this is still one of the top rums I've ever tasted. Definitely worth buying!

10-ročné Malteco bol jeden z mojich prvých rumov vôbec. Za tú cenu ozaj zaujímavý počin, preto časom siaham po odležanejšom súrodencovi. Fľaša identická, tentokrát s dozelena ladenou etiketou. Farba je už o čosi tmavšia, vôňa príjemne nasládlá, s prezretými ovocnými tónmi. Chuť je presne podľa môjho vkusu, dominuje karamel, med, hrozienka, oriešky a dub. Perfektne vyvážená...a tá jemnosť...zmyslová nirvana! Oproti lacnejšej variante tu tentokrát neevidujem žiadne šumy, všetko do seba dokonale zapadá. Celkovo je rum skôr sladší, čo nezvyknem hodnotiť ako pozitívum, tu mi to ale paradoxne imponuje. Určite ide o jeden z najchutnejších sladších rumov, čo som pil, aj kvalitou aj cenou sa jedná o priamu konkurenciu El Dorado 12Y. Najbližší cieľ bádania je bez debaty 20-ročák.

Son vieillissement en altitude lui confère tout l'équilibre d'un rhum de 15 ans d'âge.
On apprécie pour un prix raisonnable un très bon produit.

Se volete farvi un giro per i Rhum del Guatemala, il Malteco 15 years merita una citazione, simile al più conosciuto Zacapa, ma rispetto a questo mostra oltre il potente sentore di Melassa altre facce lo distinguono. Se volete prendere un bel rhum del Guatemala ve lo consiglio, spesa limitata rispetto a uno Zacapa ma risultato non inferiore.

On the nose extremely rich and sweet with raisins, vanilla and some prominent coconut among the flavors of the palate.
Lots of sweetheart shortly after intake, with cream caramel and honey.

Even the rum has 41.5% its taste is very gentle and soft, I like this.
