Brugal Extra Viejo Reserva Rum is crafted from a blend of rums aged up to 8 years in former bourbon and whiskey barrels.
This rum is produced by the Brugal distillery in the Dominican Republic. Founded in 1888, to this day the company is still run by the Brugal family.

Pleasant notes in taste, moderate sweetness, quite nice overall for it's price, but not quite great ;-)

If you like dry rums with high woody flavors, this is your huckleberry. This is a decent sipping rum if on a budget. I prefer it on the rocks to cut the bitterness a little.

A nice, tasty rum. Smooth and nothing harsh. However, the finish feels like there is a hole in it. Something is missing. It makes a nice daiquiri and serves as a sipper in a pinch.

Typical vanilla, cocoa, oaky flavours with a hint of spice in the finish. Quite heavy at first, would be great stirred on ice for some kind of Treacle.

Smooth rum, very little harsh bite. Possibly a hint of spice, but in not overly flavorful. Slightly rubbery and little aftertaste. In general, kind of a boring rum.
