Drinkable but not very interesting solera (stop making those!). Oh and its ovepriced. Completely useless rum when you have Mount Gay XO etc.
A little dry for my likings, maybe a bit too much bourbon or barrel flavor
It is a fine rum, but nothing I will buy again. In this price range, there is so much better. I was really looking forward to this rum and it is nothing special
Duft: appelsin, karamel, tobak
Smag: smager som den dufter. Slår over i chokolade og træ i eftersmagen.
Fin god rom. Lidt forskelligt smags nuancer. Lidt spændende.
This is a great change. Lots of flavour. Not sweet.be a good cold might sipper.
nothing extra, nothing bad either, smells nice, first taste kinda sweet, then a bit too much of afterburn, for a sipper 6/10, I can imagine it as a great mixer, for the price (33 EUR per bottle) I could think of some better rums both on sweet and dry side, but I will probably have another bottle of it some time
Light, dry, vanilla oak. Bit of burn. Very dry finish.
Apart from the vanilla, get a little bit of dried fruit, and lighter volatile top notes - icing sugar and sweet vanilla - from the column still.
Very drinkable, if a bit forgettable.
My palate seems to evolve over time. I'm quite new to rum, and I've come up an down with this bottle over the past few weeks. Had R L Seale and Hampden 8 on the go at the same time. I find the flavour on this too thin. I prefer something fuller, and of the three, Hampden wins easily.
Final thoughts, comparing with some less dry rums - El Dorado 8, Brugal 1888 and Chairman's Reserve Legacy- there's more depth, complexity and body in this.
I find the top notes a little discordant, but in the context of some less dry, cheaper alternatives, this one stands out as something balanced and pleasing.
Will I buy again. Probably, but a little while down the line.
Nice rich smell of caramel and toffee with orange fruity notes.
"It is zesty and spicy with more pronounced orange flavour. There is also a red grape flavour which is very pleasant."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
