Nice, sweet rum that can measure itself with more expensive ones (this bottle is €24). A bit of a burn, but that's not a problem. Will buy it again when the bottle is empty.

This Rum is in my opinion a really good Rum, I would say closer to Zacapa 23 years then 15 years Zacapa. Good value Rum! looking forward testing 20 years old variant.

The sweetness reminds me of Zacapa 23. Very round and fudgy. Seductive smell and varmth in taste.

I tried all 3 of the malteco:s since i first tried the 15 years old and found it quite tasteful, and in my opinion is the 15 year old the best. It has a mild but yet complex taste. The finish is slow and the taste simply fades away, when you are drinking, the taste fills your mouth. The price is quite low for this bottle since itΒ΄s so rich in flavour.

Kupil som tento kusok viac menej na slepo. A velmi prijemne ma prekvapil.
Krasna tmava farba.
Aroma ovocne, melasovo, sudova.
V chuti sa to velmi odraza, na chvoste sa objavuje nachvilu horkost. A ku koncu je hrejivy a s tym odoznieva sladkost a ostava prave horkost a sudovost.

I am not a fan of sweet rums in general. And I do quite dislike liqueurish rums like Centenario or Pyrat.

Malteco 15 is quite sweet and obviously smoothed out with sugar (and possibly other additives). But it retains some complexity and is interesting and entertaining to drink. Smooth enough to be likable for nearly everyone; and enough going on to keep me interested.
On the nose, it is mostly sweet vanilla, fruit candy, a hint of funk (very good thing, that!) and some wood. Alcohol is noticeable, but the sweetness helps to smooth this out.
Taste is even better, adding some tobacco, nutmeg, other spices and even a faint note of rubber (which is good). There is also some overripe banana and a hint of chocolate. Very drinkable, very sweet and smooth, but surprisingly deep and complex.

Very good neat, not a rum I would recommend for mixing, as it brings too much of a show on its own.

Would like to try this without added sugar.

Aroma - spicy, vanilla, caramel, dried fruits
Taste - dried fruits, pepper, alcohol
Finnish - slight alcohol burn

I like this rum for it is spicy, but not too sweet. But also distinctly "rum like", not as dry as whisky. Good for sipping and great for coctails as it doesn't have any too powerful taste notes.

Caramel and vanilla aroma but very mild, raisins, cinnamon and clove in the palate, almost absent tail.

Nose - Very fruity, vanilla.

Palete - Sweet and smooth. Cocoa butter, honey in behind. Little bit spicy. Good body. Sweet finish.

Nor good nor bad. Obviously nothing special.
