The rum market is flooded in blended ''premium'' rums, with little to no personality, and nothing to distinguish them from the other ''premium'' blended rums. Sure this has a pleasant flavour, but it just doenst do anything out of the ordinary.

I recommend this rum to lovers of less sweet, dry rums. But I feel too much cellar smokiness in it for my taste.

Well it was Grand Reserve which surprised me. It is pleasant enough to drink but lacks complexity and long finish. Mild oak with some sweetness but that is about all.

I’m amazed by the ratings of this. As for myself is one of the lowest quality Brugal there is. Very burnt & strong taste. Not a sipping rum at all in my opinion…

Did not enjoy the aftertaste at all. It has a rough barrel finish.

Having rated Brugal Anejo as the only rum worthy of a 1 star rating, I was curious about this one after reading so many rave reviews. Being that I do not like my rums aged in sherry or port or Madeira casks, I figured that I would not like this one. So I went to a well stocked rum bar today and ordered 5 pours of a half ounce each. This one is light years better than that awful Brugal Anejo, but the smooth taste going down is almost ruined by the sherry after taste. It is not quite enough to be annoying, but it is just not to my liking. I did finish my entire pour on this one, but it landed in the exact middle of the five rums that I tried. I won't be wasting money on an entire bottle of this one, but if you like sherry finish on your rums, then by all means go for it.

I like rum for the sweetness. This is just too dry for me, reminds me of rubbing alcohol. As a mixer it is fine (however a very expensive mixer), but straight up just doesn't work for me. It is my least favorite so far of the higher-end rums.

Had this during dinner, served neat. Nothing too great to write about, but nothing horrible. Not sweet. But not overly burning at the end. Good for the price, but nothing I would keep available at home.

This 100 anniversary edition is good, and not as dry as most of their range.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 11/6/22. Pours reddish amber. Honey and a mild oakiness to the aroma. Fruity and caramel. Leather notes. Medium thickness to the palate. Good, but should be better.
