molasses. half dry.
vanilla. wood. spice. fruit. in the aftertaste more spicy, although not boring!
as a whole a little too thin in the end. the rest ist really nice, elegant and full of harmony!
7/10
En ganske god rom ikke nogen fantastisk den er en smule spritet
A nice sipper, finding it difficult to decide if i like it more than siglo de oro. A little dry, oak, spice, licorice and maybe even a little salty.
Dry and woody, but it has something interesting and complex that is hard to describe, as is mentioned in other reviews.
Sophisticated dry Rum. My first in this category. Sort of like a sweet scotch but still a great Rum. A keeper.
Harsh burn to the nose. Quite sweet, almost sour scent. The sherry comes through strong. Very smooth, little light in flavour. Vanilla and a mild whiskey taste, likely from the casks.
... well, not much else. Dry. Smooth. Not really memorable. Tried to find something to latch on to, couldn't get there. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing truly special either.
It's quite similar to Brugal Anejo, just has more flavour, more chocolate, and it is smoother, which makes it more sippable, yet it has lost a bit of kick of the cheaper one.
Whisky wood, some chocolate, raisins.
Very good mixer with coke, woody (whisky type, not fresh one).
The only reason I didn't rate it higher is the price, it does not reflect the difference between super cheap Anejo and 1888, and it is above some other famous rums in Europe.
Alternative if you like woody: Flor De Cana 12 (fresh wood, universal, but much less flavour), Dictador 12YO (old furniture French polish, bold not as pleasant).
Many people recommend Barbados rums for whisky drinkers, but I find them lacking whisky woodiness (Doorly's, Mount Gay). I find Forgotten Casks to be in the middle, so you might try that one.
Notes: whisky wood, chocolate
Wood: aged whisky wood
Fruits: none
Sweet: no, slight
Kick: low
Salty: none
Flavour: medium
Aftertaste: medium
Wine: none
Funk: none
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very good sipper, but I prefer sweeter and with more flavour. Beautiful bottle.
