Botran Rare Blend Vintage Wine Cask 25-Year

God solid let drikkelig rom, uden den store skarphed.

There's alot going on here and you can tell they put their best effort into this. I also do not detect any added sugar! I don't know the price being it was gifted to me but I do like this one. I recently tried their 18yr and this one blows that away. All kinds of flavors floating around obviously from the multiple casking. I've had a few other rum that sat in wine casks and this one is on target. Not too much but just enough of the wine cask that it is a perfect match. Will definitely savor this one.

Citrus on the nose. Very drinkable and balanced… you can tell is 25yrs aged.

Like a wine forward less sweet bacoo, smooth with a mellow taste, unique for the collection good for your wine friends. Much softer than other wine cask aged rums (foursquare zinfandel or el dorado red wine casks)

Very expensive and pretty bottle with gold inside.

Picked up a bottle today on my way to Italy. Nice dark brown color easy on the nose little alcohol scent. Smooth with an irritating sherry or port taste. Not sure the vintage wine cask aging did it any favor. Should have bought the Zacapa XO for more or Havana Club 7 year old for less. Just downgraded to a six after almost throwing up after having a glass of this stuff. The extra aging did not agree with me. These guys just don’t know how to make good rum.

Might be hard to drink before I head home. Hope the maid likes rum.

for now keeping this review short as i will wait a few weeks to try it again, been hit by covid recently and it has messed up my taste buds a bit. first try it was low on flavors and complexity, even a bit dull and i can't imagine that's what this rum actually tastes like. taste was ok but i need some time to really experience the full taste of it. on the flip side, i can still look forward to it :), be damned covid!
