This one is not aged 7 years as the front label would lead one to disbelieve. The last sentence on the back label specifically states in fine print, "The #7 represents the seventh solera taste profile in our artisanal blend." If it were indeed aged for 7 years, there is no way on earth that it could keep it's pale yellow color without filtering out the color. More deception, since most buyers would not catch this fine print when thinking about buying it in a store.

It is a solera blend of column distilled rums from Florida, Panama, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. The barrels used in solera aging are ex-bourbon white oak and Spanish oloroso sherry.

What separates the regular #7 from this one is the higher proof at 92. These special editions are only sold by specialty stores and specifically chosen for them. This is why they are so hard to find. These will never become collectors items. However, as of this writing, I found 4 white rums that are better and 34 that are not nearly this good. Not bad at all, but don't go losing your head to find yourself a bottle. Adding ice cubes to this one is where it really shines and I partially agree with the stated notes of mango, citrus, and vanilla. This one is a good buy, but one can do better to find a really good white rum.
