My first tasted 1821!

I’ve bought a couple of 1821 over the years, but this is the first opened one.
The brand 1821 from Habitation Bellevue from Marie Galante (not to be confused with Distillery Bellevue in Guadeloupe that produced the famous Bellevue 1998 that more or less all independent bottlers have released) is a blend of rum made from pure cane juice and molasses.
So that means that it’s a french styled rum without being an Agricole.
It’s an limited vintage rum aged for 6 years in oak barrels.
The nose is rich and spicy with aromas of vanilla, nutmeg and orange.
In mouth and palate it’s quite round, the aromas comes back with tastes of different nuts and roasted wood.
Overall it’s quite expensive for a 6yo rum and it’s not something for a newbie in the rum world.
