I have become a fan of Hamilton’s Rums over the years, but this one was not for me. For the age and price, I had much higher hopes for it. The burn was so strong it was uncomfortable going down. Mixed was better, but nothing all that special.

Sampled a Hamilton Clarendon rum, this one bottled at 68.1% ABV.

This is the third high proof Hamilton rum I have sampled (the others from Saint Lucia and Guyana), this one coming in at a whopping 134 proof. Upon opening the bottle a strong aroma of alcohol escapes and its presence is immediately felt. This Jamaican rum is crisp and strong when drank neat, delightful but not something I would drink on a regular basis.
