The Plantation 2014 Barbados Malbec Cask 7-Year is a premium rum that is aged in oak casks previously used for Malbec wines. It has a deep mahogany color and rich, robust aromas of caramel, vanilla, and red fruits. On the palate, the flavors are complex and well-balanced, with notes of spice, tropical fruits, and toasted oak. The finish is long and smooth, leaving a warm and comforting sensation. This rum is perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks and can also be used in cocktails. Overall, the Plantation 2014 Barbados Malbec Cask 7-Year is an exceptional spirit that showcases the mastery of rum-making techniques and the influence of wine cask aging.

Similar to the Plantation 5yr, but with a bit more age, some extra malbec finishing, a nearly 10% increase in ABV and no sugar that gives it a bit more character and complexity... more allspice notes in the finish but transitions to sweet. The ferrand cognac casks are more apparent here than the malbec and more a part of the flavor profile than in the (much cheaper) 5yr.
