Level up from the original. Also it is not as sweet as the original, which is great.

Oproti základní verzi celkem pokrok, luxusní kousek ve srovnání s Republikou. Na samotný pití to ještě není, ale v drinku rozhodně neurazí. A na pečení výborný.

Hints of bourbon are there, but overall very dull. Weak flavours. Smell is nearly non.

The rum is supplied by Czech distributor Palírna u Zeleného stromu and the name pays tribute to the Czech legionnaires returning from the First World War back to Europe.
The Heffron Panama Heritage 5YO is an improved version of the 5YO Original. The rum comes from Panama and is aged for 5 years in bourbon barrels. Bottled at 38% strength.
Colour: Gold
Bottle: Classic Heffron with screw cap.
Nose: Sweet, but a little drier than 5YO Original. Caramel, vanilla and nothing substantial.
Taste: A bit more watery and simple. Rather sweeter. Again mainly caramel and vanilla.

Summary: The Heffron Heritage 5YO is overall a little better than the Republica Exclusive. It is not as over-sweetened as their competition from Bozkov. The aroma is unfortunately more pleasant than the taste. It just doesn't offend, it doesn't delight.

Pro mne dokonce lepší než 10-ti letý.
Vůně: Vanilka, karamel, dřevo a mírně ovoce se stopou koření.
Chuť: Karamel, trochu ovoce, ale hlavně čokoláda. Lehce dřevo.
Dochuť: Kratší, sladší lehce dřevitá.

Dovolím si srovnání s klasickým 5-ti letým Heffronem. Bourbon Cask je nepatrně méně sladký, bez pachuti z lihovinoveho karamelu. S příjemným nádechem po sudu z americkém dubu po bourbonu. Za srovnatelnou cenu se standardním Heffym bych určitě koupit tuhle limitku.
