This Rum Artesanal bottling is a 31 year old rum from Guyana, from the Enmore Distillery and carries the mark KFM. The rum was distilled in June 1991 and bottled in January 2022 at cask strength of 54.5% alcohol without filtration or additives. There are 259 bottles of this single cask rum.
This rum has a great nose. Here you can tell the age immediately. Intense, heavy and complex aromas of leather, wood, roasting and spice. In addition a tasty dry fruit. But the real miracle happens on the palate. Heavy prune with an intense roasted spiciness, which is probably the famous pencil. In addition, a wonderfully integrated old wood with leather and mocha. A subtle but wonderful mint note sets in, which heralds the finish. This is heavy and gets a bit dry with lots of spice, pencil and fruit residue. The aftertaste is infinitely long and could still be perceived hours later.
This rum is a real block buster. The body is perfect, heavy and oily. The rum balanced and complex. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. This very old Enmore is worth every penny and I'm glad I was able to snag a bottle and share it. I'm starting to understand the hype surrounding old Guyana rums. Wow.

Dieser Rum hat eine tolle Nase. Hier merkt man das Alter sofort. Intensiv, schwer und komplex kommen Aromen von Leder, Holz, Röstung und Würze. Dazu eine süffige trockene Frucht. Am Gaumen passiert aber das eigentliche Wunder. Schwere Dörrpflaume mit einer inteisiven röstigen Würze, welche wahrscheinlich der berühmte Bleistift darstellt. Dazu ein wunderbar eingebundenes altes Holz mit Leder und Mokka. Es setzt eine dezente aber wunderbare Minz Note ein, welche den Abgang einleutet. Dieser ist schwer und wird etwas trocken mit viel Würze, Bleistift und Fruchtresten. Der Nachklang ist unendlich lang und konnte noch Stunden später wahrgenommen werden.
Dieser Rum ist ganz großes Kino. Der Körper ist perfekt, schwer und ölig. Der Rum ausbalaciert und komplex. Der Alkohol perfekt eingebunden. Dieser sehr alte Enmore ist jeden Cent wert und ich bin froh das ich eine Flasche ergattern und teilen konnte. Langsam verstehe ich den Hype um die alten Guyana Rums. Wow.
