Brugal has some good expressions, but this is not their best. Vanilla, wood, probably meant as a crossover / introduction to rum for bourbon drinkers. I wouldn't dump it out but I would not buy it again.

This drinks more like a bourbon or whisky - oak, vanilla, and a hint of smoke. The nose is flat, mostly vanilla. The palate is also flat, mostly vanilla, some oak, with a sharp bite at the end. I love my bourbons, but I don't want my rums to taste like them. Time to find some Coke.

This is my go to when I want to mix. Great rum although is nothing crazy. Would recommend sprite or Mott’s apple juice & ice as a mix. If you want to use it as a shipping rum, would suggest you to put it in the freezer as ice won’t have the same effect.

At the first taste this rum seemed harsh and a little primitive. But during half a year this rum showed great evolution from harsh and simple rum to very tasty and maybe a little refreshing.

Don't know how to put this better but this does taste like the kind of rum you would have expected the colonial Spanish and Portuguese to drink in the Caribbean in the olden days. Very nice but not too special!

it's not that bad, but I definitely wouldn't put it in the category of aged rums. The taste is good vanilla and oak, but quite a flat rum. I recommend for mixing.

Some drink recipes call for a very specific style of Rum. I got this for anything calling for an aged dominican rum. It can also stand in for anything 'Spanish' style.

Overall not really that great. It has some rummy sweetness on the nose, semi interesting oaky palate.

Is it is really good choice for less money. Soft and not really sweet, Some vanilla and banana notes, woody. I would recommend as a sipper.
