Hillbilly Friesenrum

Hillbilly's Friesian rum is a blend of various rums from the Caribbean, which were stored in sherry casks, among other things. There is no information about the age or which distilleries were used here. The rum was bottled at 40% drinking strength. Probably no sugar was used.

The rum is weak on the nose, but not bad. A pleasant sweetness with vanilla, caramel and burnt aromas are noticeable. The rum is really bad on the palate. It's been a long time since I've tasted a distinct alcohol note. The rum is thin and watery. It is somehow pleasantly sweet and has caramel and vanilla notes. It gets a little creamier towards the end.

This rum is not to be taken seriously as a sipper. But it works quite well in cola. For evenings with lots of friends when rum is consumed in large quantities. Really too weak for 30€. The Plantation 3Star was superior in everything to the Friesen-Rum and that for half the price.

Der Friesen-Rum von Hillbilly ist ein Blend aus verschiedenen Rums aus der Karibik, welche unter anderem in Sherry Fässern gelagert wurden. Angaben über das Alter, oder welche Distillerien hier verwendet wurden gibt es nicht. Der Rum wurde mit 40% Trinkstärke abgefüllt. Wahrscheinlich wurde kein Zucker verwendet.

Der Rum ist in der Nase schwach, aber nicht schlecht. Eine angenehme Süße mit Vanille, Karamell und gebrannten Aromen sind wahrnehmbar. Am Gaumen ist der Rum dann echt schwach. Es ist lange her, dass ich eine deutliche Alkohol Note geschmeckt habe. Der Rum wirkt dünn und wässrig. Er ist angenehm süß und hat Karamell und Vanille Noten. Zum Abgang wird er ein wenig cremiger.

Dieser Rum ist als Sipper nicht ernst zu nehmen. In Cola funktioniert er aber ganz gut. Für Abende mit vielen Freunden an denen der Rum in großen Mengen konsumiert wird. Für 30€ wirklich zu schwach. der Plantation 3Star war dem Friesen-Rum für den halben Preis in allem überlegen.
