Montelana Robles Especiales 18-Year

The Montelana 18 Robles Especiales is a blend of different rums from Guatemala and Barbados, matured in different oak barrels. Created and bottled at 44.3% by Mr. John Aylesbury
Nose : caramel, nut (maybe nutmeg), slight alcohol note
Palate : oak, caramel, slight spiciness, a touch of leather, a hint of dark chocolate in the back
with ice cubes: the slight spiciness disappears
Finish : medium length, the slight sharpness in the mouth quickly disappears. It remains caramel. The caramel touch is more intense with ice and is supported by a very tiny note of honey or vanilla.
Conclusion: a very typical, solid rum from these two countries, unfortunately nothing special and a little boring; no wow or ahhh effect, but quite expensive (about 55 euros for 50 cl). In my opinion, there are many rums that are cheaper and taste more exceptional.

I don't know how to edit generic bottle to actual block shaped design. Hence see bottle design as on uploaded tasting pictures.
The taste contains ginger, cloves, zero or minimum added sugar, some burn, plain palate, short aftertaste, shallow boring taste. Maybe someone will recognize smoke or cigar tones...
Nose pretty much copies taste here. Smells somewhat uniterestingly ethanolish too. The smell Feels like worse and uglier copy of Botran Cobre (which is relatively drinkable rum for me but even more aggressive).
It is not a total disaster but as we Czechs say, "o ničem" :-)
None of my friends enjoyed drinking it.
/Revisited after 1 year. Even worse feeling than before. This is a rum to avoid guys.
