A rum in Bourbon's clothing - might be a little overoaked

Nose: The arrival is very reminiscent of bourbon, especially with the plastic balloon, vanilla, and brown sugar. It remains in the realm of bourbon for a really long time until a soft still-bourbony aroma of toasted coconut reminds me of the past Foursquare expressions I've tried. From there, subtle distinctions emerge like old coffee beans, faint ginger, and cumin. It's still so bourbon-like, though.
Palate: More of the rum comes out here. A subtle core of sugarcane juice that is covered by thick layers of creme brulee, caramelized almonds, meringue, oak, plastic balloon, bagasse, and a subtle earthiness. Medium-bodied that is a little water and a little oily near the end.
Finish: Long. Spice lingers on the lips and roof of the mouth. Brown sugar and slighly nutty.
Conclusions: I like that Foursquare's soft character can be discerned despite its level of richness. However, this comes across as over-oaked. Give it to me blind, and I'll probably think it's a Bourbon, which is not that much of a positive aspect for me.
