Single Cask 2021. Tropické zrání 10 let v sudech po bourbonu, v Evropě pak 1 rok v sudech po koňaku a nakonec 11 měsíců v sudu po belgickém pivu Duvel.
Alkohol: 45,3 %
Původ: Trinidad/Francie
Aroma: Pečený banán, med, vosk, slad, citrusy, bylinky jako z Becherovky, vanilka. Celkově ale dost ploché, nezajímavé aroma. (82 b)
Chuť: Pikantní, štiplavá chuť, hodně do bylinek, sladu. Nic extra a to dojem ještě zachraňují procenta alkoholu. (82 b)
Body: 82/100
Aroma is warm, but weak. First taste is very light, almost like water, then appear some wood and vanilla tones, ending in short bitter aftertaste. The beer barrels aging you can feel only slightly in finish. Good to try, but nothing special.
Plantation Trinidad 2009 Single Cask

barva : slámové
vune vanilka, slabší projev koření a piva
chut: velmi vodová z počátku, pak se rozvine chut vanilky, koření
zaver : postupně se rozvíjející ale rychle vyprchá

I appreciate the lack of sugar, but a too-subtle nose of ether and rubber is slightly off-putting. The taste and finish improve on the nose with some banana balancing out the rubber, but others are so much better and more interesting at this price point. As a recent scotch/bourbon convert I like the uniqueness here, but it isn't a unique that I like.
Tropical aging 10ys in bourbon cask, then 1 year in Ferrand cask and finally 11 months in Duvel beer cask.
Easy on the nose. Subtile on palate. A bit watery. Strong layer of Ferrand taste
signature. Bunch of delicious notes of tropical fruits, apple. But all too temporary - aftertaste is short. 45+degree is ok, smooth enough.

Didn't know what to expect from this one. OK it has no added sugar so that’s a good start. At 45.3% it is still mild but actually very enjoyable. This rum is actually pretty nice, nothing spectacular but a nice change. Last year I never envisaged buying Plantation rum but after discovering that some of their offerings have no added sugar I realize I have quite a few that I enjoy. The Plantation Jamaica Borderies was excellent, this one not as good but definitely something I will purchase again.. 👍
Update (22-04-16): Tonight I indulged in this rum again and it is growing on me. This is such a nice sipper that it rivals other more expensive rums. I never expected to rate this rum a 9 but I enjoyed it so much tonight that I am going to purchase another bottle. Really good stuff!
