The nose is rich mixture of smells which remind me also of burbon and calvados, and definitely not in a bad way, I can smell apple juice, vanilla, burnt caramel, citrus fruits, charred barrel, tobacco and spices, I just cannot get enough of it. The taste profile starts sweet and spicy, continues with very smooth mixture of citrus fruits, dried fruits, dryness of cocoa and spices, then it turns into a warm aftertaste of sweet fruits, cocoa, spices and dry charred barrel. The rum is not very old, but it is sooo entertaining, apparently the guys in Richland distillery know what they are doing. Fresh oak barrels plus char does its magic, pot still gives the rum a nice twist, sweet parts of the taste are nice balanced with bitter ones, wow. This is the first rum I bought as a sample which I would actually like to buy as a whole bottle. Nicely done. The only reason I do not give this rum a 10 is its exorbitant price to get it in CZ. No sugar added.
It was a strange experience sipping this for the first time. It has a knockback, but I've never had a knockback that disappeared almost as fast as it hit. On the nose it honestly just smells like lightly cooked sugar. Or... perhaps... like a rich simple syrup.
The flavor is what's so surprising to me. There's an effervescence to it. There's also a slight sourness, but in a good way (I love sour so that's a huge compliment from me). What's interesting is that, despite the apparent effervescence, the flavor definitely lingers. Or... *a* flavor lingers. The linger is kind of non-descript, but pleasantly sweet. It's the kind of thing that makes me want more as it dissipates.
It's such a wonderful and surprising rum and I definitely recommend it.

I saw this one on the menu at a local pub and gave it a try. Glad I did. Plenty of flavor, a little sweetness, and fairly firm body. Definitely some citrus notes.
Don’t let them take the empty glass. The aroma remaining a few minutes after draining the last drop is worth keeping around.
